2nd Test

Both Sitepoint.com and Zcultfm.com came into the 2nd and final Test of the series, with new gameplans.

Having tried new players in each of the matches, Sitepoint.com, in a final effort to leave the series with a win under their belt, decided to go into the match with an unchanged lineup.

Zcultfm.com on the other hand, had nothing to lose, winning 4 of the 4 matches played, and at no risk of losing the Test series. Serj, the captain, chose to rest himself, and bring in medium pace bowler, Yonni, who incidentally, is only the 12th person to represent Zcultfm.com in simulation cricket.

It appeared that Zcultfm.com would maintain their dominance, when with Cleetus' third ball, of the first over of the match, DigitaL fell for a golden duck, leaving the team at 1/1. Ten overs later, Nicky fell for 12, leaving Sitepoint.com at 2/25.

It was then, that SlitheryImp and Heman maximus came together, to build a partnership in excess of 100 runs. SlitheryImp fell first, followed by Heman maximus not long later, but both made scores into the late 60's.

Even iTechno, who hasn't had the best of luck in Test cricket, managed to post his first half-century, 55 from 109.

Cronweb added 30 to the score, proving what a valuable asset he is in the middle order. HAWK struggled, scoring only 10 before being out LBW.

kiviniar and fisherboy provided some resistance, with 14 and 16, but eventually, Sitepoint.com was all out for 269, their highest innings total.

Ace and Cleetus were the best of the Zcultfm.com bowlers, with 3 wickets each. KingTigerII managed 2 for himself, while Finnie and Chameleongirl were economical, on top of 1 wicket each. Yonni was the most economical of the mainstream bowlers, going for only 2.00 an over, but he won't be happy with the figures of 0/46.

Zcultfm.com had a disappointing start to their innings, losing Finnie for 4. Beef fell for 12, while the captain, Zog, was clean bowled in his first delivery.

KingScott managed to stick around, and score 25, but it was jakeolsen, who gave the innings total any respectability.

Running out of partners, while approaching his maiden century, was a huge concern for the middle order batsman. 2 overs into the third day, on the final ball of the over, jakeolsen went for a huge swing, knowing the strike would otherwise be relinquished to the number eleven. But he mis-timed the ball, and was struck plum on the pads, departing on 99. This is the second time in Test history a player failed to get off 99, the previous instance, was with Webhostingtalk.com captain Equentity - Jamie, who was on 99 not out when the winning runs were scored.

Zcultfm.com were all out for 169, with fisherboy being the standout bowler with 4/37. bcr managed 2/31. kiviniar got 2 wickets, while Cronweb and khuldun got 1 each.

In Sitepoint.com's second innings, DigitaL managed to see off a king pair, but was out the next ball, giving him a pair none-the-less. SlitheryImp added 25, while Nicky added 35. It was Heman maximus who strutted his stuff though, scoring a magnificent century, the first of the Test series. He eventually scored 167, the equal highest Test score, before being the last man out. iTechno was unable to keep up the same form from the first innings, with a mere 10.

Cronweb made a respectable 26, while HAWK chipped in with 20.

The lower order added 33 in all, bringing Sitepoint.com's second innings total to a whopping 316, a lead of over 400 runs.

KingTigerII was Zcultfm.com's most successful bowler, with 6/71, Test cricket's best figures.

Needing 427 runs to win, Zcultfm.com needed to attack from the word go, but things went downhill from the second ball, when Beef departed for 0. Finnie fell soon after, also for 0.

KingScott added 20, but it was Zog who tried to steady the ship, with a quick 46.

Chameleongirl, who made just 1 in the first innings, contributed 17, before being the second of what would be 5 stumpings for HAWK.

jakeolsen tried to lift the team, but like in the first innings, he ran out of batting partners, and was the last man out for 29. The only score of any importance in the lower order, was Cleetus', who added 20, his highest Test score. Zcultfm.com crashed to 145 all out, 4 overs from stumps on the 4th day.

fisherboy, bcr and khuldun each took 3 wickets, while kiviniar managed 1. khuldun's figures of 3/7, are his best, as was bcr's 3/47.

Sitepoint.com ended up with their first Test match victory, by 282 runs infact. There were no surprises when Heman maximus was awared Man of the Match, for his two efforts of 69 and 137.

This match concludes a very exciting series, in which Zcultfm.com were clear winners, having won the Twenty20 International, both ODI's and one of the Test's. But Sitepoint.com have shown, that they are capable of excellence.
